Health Services Team

Our CCUSD healthcare team is comprised of four School Nurses, two Licensed Vocational Nurses, and three Health Technicians, who work collaboratively across all school sites to provide care for our entire CCUSD school population.

Additionally, through a wonderful partnership between CCUSD and the Venice Family Clinic, we are fortunate to have the Sandy Segal Youth Health Center (SSYHC) on our campus.  The SSYHC is a school-based health clinic where CCMS/CCHS students can make appointments for both physical-medical needs and mental health needs.  A licensed doctor provides physical-medical services including: sports physicals, chronic health management, reproductive health, screenings, immunizations, etc.  Mental health services are provided by Marriage and Family Therapist interns and Licensed Clinical Social Work interns operating under the guidance and supervision of a licensed mental health provider. The mental health services include: individual and/or group therapy for issues such as anxiety, depression, bullying, struggles with family or peer relationships, loss/grief, LGBTQ+, and so much more.

My name is Kausar Abdul-Rauf. I received my LVN license in 2020 from American Career College and my Bachelors in Health Care Administration from Long Beach State University in 2016. I've had the opportunity to work in the clinical as well as administrative sector of healthcare and look forward to strengthening and growing my skills and experience within CCUSD. I have mostly worked at Skilled Nursing facilities which has enhanced as well as given me new knowledge as a nurse. I look forward to sharing them all with you while learning from you all. My son's birth has inspired me to focus my career in pediatrics, so being here with you all is not only a great opportunity for me but a wonderful blessing!

I’ve been a part of the CCMS and CCHS health team as a Health Technician since 2009. I’ve enjoyed being a familiar face and providing caring and compassionate support for students over the years. I’ve served as a connector and liaison bridging the students to nurses, therapists, counselors as needed to meet each students needs. My educational background in Behavior Sciences has allowed me to identify needs in development of adolescents; through care, compassion, and understanding, I’ve had the fulfillment of aiding both CCMS and CCHS students. I’m also a parent of a CCUSD student and enjoy spending time with my family on hikes and watching movies.
