Philosophy

In pursuit of our mission, and in accordance with the CCUSD mission and core beliefs, we believe that:

  • A Successful Child is Whole: Safe, Challenged, Connected, Cared for, Healthy, and Hopeful.
  • Every child is entitled to a level of health which permits maximum utilization of educational opportunities.
  • Parents have the basic responsibility for the health of their children; the school health services exist to support student wellness in the school setting.
  • We can improve the lifelong health of our students by encouraging them to: maintain balance in their everyday lives, cultivate critical thinking strategies, strive for independence, become advocates for themselves, develop a sense of personal responsibility, and foster relationships within their home, school, and community.
